I don't know how far this story has traveled outside of Texas, but a giraffe has gone missing. Her name is Gracie and she lives on Cedar Hollow Ranch in Leakey, TX, about 100 miles northwest of San Antonio. Cedar Hollow Ranch is home to an exotic breeding program.

According to the latest information I could find, she has been spotted on game camera footage and appears to be in good shape. Still, there are predators out there who might try to take her on, so she needs to come home!

Not surprisingly, numerous municipalities, commercial enterprises, and private individuals have posted "sightings" of Gracie participating in all manner of activities from joining a volunteer fire department, to serving up brisket, to tubing down several rivers.

I really admire the creative people who think up these posts! Underlying the humor there is genuine for Gracie's welfare.

If you see your fellow Israelite's ox or sheep straying,

do not ignore it but be sure to take it back to its owner.

This is how social media should be used--wholesome posts showing concern for others.

I am not advocating for censorship. I firmly support the 1st Amendment. I would just like to see

the positive overcome the negative.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,

whatever things are noble, whatever things are

just, whatever things are pure, whatever things

are lovely, whatever things are of good report,

if there is any virtue and if there is anything

praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
