What Did Not Happen.

One thing I actually enjoy about reaching my current age is that I've lived long enough to look back on all those times when bad things could have happened and didn't.
We moved to our current location in 1996. Since that time I have made at least one annual trip to the state I grew up in. The journey takes about a day and a half. Sometimes my husband was able to accompany us and sometimes I made the journey alone with two young kids in tow.
In all those trips, the car never broke down once. Never even had a flat tire although the low tire pressure light came on sometimes and that was a simple fix. We were never involved in any collisions either.
Some might attribute this good fortune to the fact that my husband is very conscientious about car maintenance or the fact that I am a very cautious driver. You know those people who actually go the posted limit in work zones? That's me, well sometimes... I've learned over the years that going the posted limit in work zones can almost get you run off the road!
I now attribute this "good fortune" to my Heavenly Father. How many times over the years did I encounter challenges and wonder if God even cared about me? Only when I stopped and looked back could I see God's hand protecting me.
I do acknowledge the fact that bad things do happen to good people. Some people do experience car trouble or collisions on the road. I am simply sharing my testimony.
Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy] and weep with those who weep [sharing
others' grief].
Romans 12:15 (AMP)
Everyone has a testimony. If you think back on your life, I'm pretty certain you'll be able to recall at least one event that could have turned out badly and didn't. Getting laid off from a job only to find an even better one. The lump that turned out to be noncancerous.
For He will command His angels
in regard to you,
to protect and defend and
guard you in all your ways [of service
obedience and service].
Psalm 91:11 (AMP)
Let's be grateful to our Heavenly Father for the things he protected us from.
